Hearing from Horgan Homes at Birmingham’s Women in Construction Lunch

As part of our commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion within the construction industry, Banners Gate was pleased to attend a recent Women in Construction event supported by Horgan Homes at Bank, Birmingham.

The event brought together professionals from across the sector to celebrate the achievements of women in construction and to highlight the vital role they play in shaping the industry’s future.

Attending on behalf of Banners Gate was Kavita Dhande, who joined peers in hearing from Sophie Horgan, Director at Horgan Homes, as she shared her professional journey to date. Sophie offered valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities women encounter within the construction sector, as well as her personal experiences of leadership and growth in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

“It was inspiring to hear Sophie’s story and to be part of an event dedicated to recognising and empowering women in construction,” said Kavita.
“Creating space for these conversations is essential if we want to continue building a more inclusive, diverse, and forward-thinking industry.”
