Celebrating International Women’s Day at the Midlands Women in Property Lunch

As part of our ongoing commitment to equality, inclusion and celebrating the diverse voices that shape the built environment, Banners Gate was proud to attend the Women in Property Lunch in honour of International Women’s Day this March.

The event, held at the Hotel du Vin, brought together women from across the property, architecture, engineering and planning industries for an inspiring afternoon of connection, reflection, and celebration.

The highlight of the afternoon was an inspiring talk from Sian Griffiths, Director of RCA Regeneration Limited, whose 27+ years of experience in planning and development continue to make her a respected and motivational figure in the industry. Her insights on the evolving role of women in property and planning struck a powerful chord, underlining the importance of visibility, mentorship, and inclusive leadership.

Representing Banners Gate at the event was Kavita Dhande, who reflected on the importance of such events in shaping a more equal and supportive industry:

“It was a fantastic afternoon meeting likeminded women who are passionate about what they do. It’s so important that we celebrate the achievements and challenges of women in our sector — days like this help build a community that drives change.”

At Banners Gate, we have a focus on social values as well as a dedication not just to engineering excellence, but to fostering a workplace and industry where diversity, inclusion, and empowerment are core foundations. We are proud to support and participate in initiatives that champion gender equality, and we look forward to continuing our role in creating a more inclusive future for everyone in the built environment.
