Kavita Dhande
Director of Architecture
Kavita Dhande is a Chartered Architect with a background in commercial architecture, leading projects from early concept and spatial design through to planning, technical detailing, and construction. She brings extensive experience from working in prominent architectural practices in Birmingham, including Corstorphine & Wright and Glancy Nicholls Architects.
Her portfolio includes a wide range of project types, from bespoke private homes and city centre apartment schemes to Section 106-funded schools and all-through educational campuses. Much of Kavita’s work has focused on delivering high-quality buildings within urban contexts—developments that enhance the townscape, promote contemporary living, and respond to complex urban design challenges.
Kavita studied Architecture at Northumbria University (BA), followed by postgraduate qualifications from Birmingham City University (MA and PgDip). Her design approach is driven by a deep appreciation for how architecture intersects with people, place, and society.
Beyond practice, Kavita is a passionate advocate for social responsibility, diversity, inclusion, and ethics in architecture. She actively engages with the wider architectural community through leadership and mentoring roles. She serves as a RIBA Ambassador, supporting young people exploring careers in architecture, and is also an Architects Benevolent Society (ABS) Ambassador, offering support to professionals in the field.
Kavita is an Advisory Member for the Open City Accelerate Programme, which supports underrepresented students pursuing careers in the built environment. She is the founder of the Diversity and Inclusion Group for the Birmingham Architectural Association (BAA) and has also served as a former board member of the organisation.
