John also started his career working in the public sector in 1984 at Hereford and Worcester CC moving on to the Property Services Agency / Department of the Environment, gaining a sound base in infrastructure development and all its associated activities. During this period he gained his Higher National Certificate in Civil Engineering at Birmingham Polytechnic. In 1989 he moved into the private sector and has worked at Consultants Baker Hall Partnership, Clarke Bond Partnership, Mason Richards Partnership and WSP Graham Development Ltd
 

During this period he has built up a considerable knowledge of all Civil Engineering activities associated with the provision of infrastructure developments for Clients of all sizes. These have ranged from small-scale housing  developments through to 250-acre housing developments for residential Clients, together with hospitals, industrial and commercial developments for public and private sector clients. Included with these developments have been feasibility studies on the proposed sites to identify engineering difficulties and advise suitable solutions to the Clients.

 

John also has experience of sewer rehabilitation projects together with organising demolition and contaminated land remediation contracts to include a supervision role; he has also been involved in organising Estate Management Contracts prior to purchase of the land or commencement of the projects
